The Vas Deferens is located within the tail end of the Epididymis, becomes less convoluted and its diameter increases, in the human male it is about 45cm (18inch) long, and it ascends along the posterior of the epididymis, it penetrate the inguinal canal (the narrow short passage that the captains the spermatic cord, this cord aids in suspending the testes ), at this point it loop the ureter and over the side and down the posterior surface of the urinary bladder the smaller section of the duct is know as the Ampulla (disguised on another page). the vas Deferens has a thick lining of muscle there is the inner the outer and the longitudinal layers, the longitudinal layer of circular. the function of the Vas Deferens is to store sperm. in this storage area the sperm can remain viable for up to 7 months, it also conveys the sperm from the epididymis, to the urethra, it does this by peristaltic contractions, the sperm that is not ejaculated ultimately become reabsorbed
(Britanica, n.d.)
the ejaculatory ducts are two hollow tubes, and they are formed by the union of the ampulla of the vas deferens and the excretory duct of the seminal vesicle, this duct opens into the urethra roughly about half way through the prostrate gland, the function of this gland is to mix the sperm that is stored in the ampulla with the fluids secreted from the seminal vesicles, and transport it into the prostatic urethra (Spermiduct) (Britanica, 2014).
